Proper cleaning and maintenance of your Fire Magic grill ensure its longevity and performance. Here's a breakdown of the cleaning process:

Daily Cleaning

Before Each Use:

  • Exterior Cleaning: With the grill cool, wipe down any dust, grease, or spills on the exterior using a damp cloth.

After Each Use:

  1. Burn-Off and Grid Cleaning: Run the grill on high with the hood closed for 15 minutes to burn off food and grease. Turn off the grill and use a grill brush to clean the cooking grids. Once cool, wipe down the grids with a clean rag, and check for any loose brush bristles.
  2. Drip Tray Maintenance: Once the grill is cool, remove the drip tray, dispose of the contents, and clean the tray with soapy water. For stubborn deposits, use a copper pad. Rinse, dry, and replace the tray. If your model has a liner, replace it before reinserting the tray.
  3. Charcoal Grills (if applicable): Remove the additional drip tray and charcoal tray once cool, empty any ash, and clean as needed.
  4. Cover the Grill: After cleaning and drying, cover your grill with a protective cover to keep it safe from the elements.

Deep Cleaning

Preparation:

  • Ensure the grill is completely cool before cleaning.
  • Gather necessary tools like safety glasses, rubber gloves, and cleaning supplies.
  • Set up cleaning and drying stations using disposable drop cloths or newspapers.
  • Mix a soapy water solution for cleaning the components.

Cleaning the Interior:

  1. Remove Interior Components: Remove parts like the rotisserie rod, warming rack, cooking grids, and others according to the owner’s manual. Perform a dry scrub with a grill brush or putty knife before removing components to minimize mess.
  2. Component Cleaning: Soak components in soapy water, scrub with a copper pad or grill brush, and wipe with the grain. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Burner Cleaning:
    • Tubular Burners: Lightly scrub with a copper pad or grill brush, ensuring all ports are clear.
    • Cast Stainless Steel Burners: Soak in a soapy solution overnight, scrub, and drill open clogged ports with a 2 mm drill bit, using WD-40 for lubrication.
    • Infrared Burners: Perform a 5-minute burn-off after cooking. These burners are self-cleaning and require no manual cleaning.

Final Steps:

  • Rinse all cleaned components thoroughly, ensuring no debris remains.
  • Dry everything completely before reassembling your grill.

By following these steps, your Fire Magic grill will continue to provide exceptional grilling performance for years to come. For more detailed instructions click here
